Dr Amit Ranjan is an expert on India Australia relations. His PhD research about 19th century historical ties between the two countries has been widely acclaimed. He has been the recepient of prestigious felowships like the Endeavour and Inlaks research fellowships. He also writes fiction and poetry. His research was talked about in a ToI article below.
Dr Amit Ranjan is an alumni of the coveted Endeavour Research Fellowship of the Australian government, as also of the Inlaks Shivdasani Research Fellowship. He was a visiting fellow at University of New South Wales in 2010. His doctoral research (undertaken at JNU and UNSW) about John Lang, an Australian writer, journalist and lawyer who lived in India in the mid 19th century, and who was also the lawyer of the Rani of Jhansi, has been widely acclaimed in academia as well as in the media. During his time in Australia, Amit lectured at seven different universities about his work and traveled a lot. Currently he is an Australia Awards Ambassador, to promote Australian fellowships in India. He teaches at Jamia Millia Islamia.
