The court accepted Centre’s argument that Governor enjoys constitutional immunity. Is this signal of a thaw in govt – court relationships which soured after the NJAC issue?
The judiciary has been donning the hat of executive for long. Whole country awaits its final decision on the Arunachal crisis!
2. PM Modi’s Farmer Outreach – Strategy Shift After Bihar Debacle?

Starting February 18, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a slew of rallies focused on farmers across states. Loss in Bihar and municipal polls in rural Gujarat seems to have had an effect and PM realized that it’s better to assuage the concerns of the farmers rather than globe trotting.
This strategy has got the opposition worried. Rahul after Bihar victory is trying to carefully craft the come back of Congress. The net gainer of Farmers, Dalits and Backward class votes is Congress. Also, big chunk of educated middle class votes are moving back to Congress after not a great performance on economy front.

3. Budget 2016: Finance Minister Arun Jaitley could squeeze business to balance books

We are staring at a big revenue shortfall as India missed again it’s disinvestment target. With shortfall in taxes, less exports due to fall in commodity prices, Jaitley has managed so far by raising excise duty on fuel. Next year he may have to take away some exemptions from corporates. He has promised reduction of corporate income tax from 30% to 25% and this will be tough. Will he hold onto his promise or impose some sort of new tax / cess needs to be seen…

Not RSS alone majority parties are dominated by upper castes. We are completely divided by caste, British ruled us like that and now our politicians are doing the same, AAP being no different. If AAP was different Kejri would have gone to Malda to stand by those who lost their life and property. How many Dalits he has as ministers and MLAs? If no reservation for SC / ST, how many parties would have given tickets to Dalits. Not many sadly…

5. BJP’S OBC Morcha demands release of caste census – Joining Lalu-Nitish chorus!

The demand is similar to Lalu’s during Bihar elections. Last caste census way back in 1931. This will give clarity and new direction for reservation. Is current reservation ok, or needs to be be altered?
