Goa

Goa, the tourist hotspot of India, sends 2 MPs to Lok Sabha and hence doesn’t play an important role in formation of govt. at the center. However, with the next elections expected to be very close, every seat counts. Manohar Parrikar of BJP is currently the CM of the state. Upto 1990s the state was dominated by regional parties – Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party, Progressive Democratic Party. After 1990 BJP and Congress have taken control of the state. In the last few Lok Sabha elections, BJP and Congress have shared honours.
