Jammu & Kashmir National Conference

National Conference is regional party in the state of J&K. The party was formed in 1932 by Sheikh Abdullah father of Farooq Abdullah (current President of the party). It has dominated state politics post Independence. The party is a family fiefdom of Abdullahs for the past three generations.

Lately its hold has declined among the J&K population and it has formed govt. with the help of Congress. While father Farooq is a minister in UPA II, son Omar is the Chief Minister.
