Delhi is a North Indian state and sends 7 MPs to Lok Sabha. Though no. is small, the state is important as the Parliament sits in Delhi. The state elections are due by the end of the year. Sheila Dixit is the Chief Minister of the state for the last 15 yrs. There is huge anti incumbency against both the state Congress and national Congress govts. This will cost her heavily.
Aam Aadmi Party of Arvind Kejriwal is testing political waters from Delhi and has made some inroads by bringing up local issues like high power tariffs. They will cut votes of both BJP and Congress.
